Himachal Pradesh has developed itself into one of the most advanced states in the nation.  Tourism is the biggest reason behind this development but the variety of fabrics offered by this state also plays a role in it. 

The specialized markets of Himachal provide a good variety of handcrafted garments which are fabricated as per the extreme weather conditions there. Over the decades Himachal natives have designed a wealthy, innovative, and unique form of warm garments and fabrics.

Some of them are:

• Pashmina Shawls: One of the most expensive shawls or woolen fabric of all time. It is best suited for keeping people warm even in the coldest winters. It is made of Pashmina fiber wool and soft silk (to add extra glaze and softness to it). 
• Lingchay: It is a handwoven shawl that serves as a shoulder wrap. 
• Kinnauri Shawl: The colors used in its patterning represents elements of the earth; white stands for water, yellow for earth, green for air, blue for ether, and red for fire. 
• Galicha: It is a handmade carpet made of local sheep wool.
• Dhan: It is a woolen rug used on sofas or benches. It is particularly available in long and narrow shapes.
