Telangana

The Deccan Plateau situated state, Telangana has a culture that has a beautiful blend of Persian traditions which were left behind by the Mughals, Qutub Shahis, and Nizams with prominent South Indians customs and traditions. The newly formed state has a rich culture when it comes to classic music, folk arts, dances, and paintings. 

The state has a huge caliber to perform well in the handloom and textile sector. Some of the well-known textile works of Telangana include Ikat Handloom products, Pochampally,  Siddipet Handlooms, Banjara Embroidery, Narayanpet Handlooms, Gadwal Handlooms, Dharmavaram sarees, and Cotton Durries.

Over the years, the state has maintained its cultural glory, and that is well reflected by its ethnic handloom designs. The handloom industry of Telangana provides livelihood to a significant portion of the state. 

The state possesses 50 thousand power looms along with 17 thousand handlooms. Telangana has secured the third position on the highest cotton production leader board of India; it produces 5 million cotton bales annually. The spinning industry of this state has a capacity of nearly 1 million spindles.
